Summer Slump / Market Correcting / Opinions ? ? ?

OK, guys . . . this week we have seen a near mint Blue Silverstone sell in the $2200 range and a Siffert Automatic sell for $1025. For time to time we have discussed the dynamics of the vintage watch market, and the Heuer market in particular.

so what is it that we are seeing now?

  • the usual summer slump, when the buyers are at the beach?
  • something a bit worse than the usual summer slump?
  • over-heated market for Heuer chronos finally correcting itself?
  • currency fluctuations?
  • general economic conditions / gas too expensive?
  • ebay getting mature after five years, so the collectors have completed their collections?
  • something else?

no need to panic, right ? ? ?
