As a newcomer enthusiast to Heuer through a roundabout journey

I have fallen for the vintage 70's automatic f1 race track themed series and would like to attempt a collection.

A thought/theme that has intrigued me too! Don't forget the Kentucky... Even though it's not a "F1 Themed" watch it is a nifty "Racetrack" Themed watch even if the participants have a decidedly different idea about horsepower.

I have so far Carrera and Montreal could anyone help me with difinitive list of what models were produced,in what calibers by, year/model/serial no's etc..

You don't ask for much. Six months ago this information really didn't exist on the web. Thanks to the efforts of Jeff Stein, Bruce Mackie, Hans Schrag, with a little HTML assistance by myself, we have a start on that information:

Heuer Chronograph Master Reference Table (a.k.a. MOAT: the Mother Of All Tables)

Note: There are some models we know exist, like the Cortina, but we do not (or at least have not) had access to them (in the past) in order to qualify and quantify them in any way.

I would like to collect nos or mint quality pieces, help with prices for model/condition would be greatly appreciated.

Prices or even price ranges are very difficult to accurately state, for the collectors market on chronographs is a commodity trade. What might go for $425 today, might go for $970 next week and vice versa. Condition means a lot as well as the reputation of the seller. What I have used in the nearly 5 years since I started seriously collecting is completed auction searches on eBay. There may be a better way, but I haven't found it yet.
