serial number

I have read several of the postings on serial numbers and now I have some questions: My 2531.80.00 was purchased from a reputable diamond dealer who is also an authorized Omega dealer. I noticed that the position of the serial number on the back of the watch is slightly skewed. The last number is just adjacent to and almost underneath the edge of where the bracelet attaches to the case. Does this ever happen? I am comparing mine to the pic posted on this site and realize that they may not take extra care in placement of the number. Also, the 1st digit of the number is difficult to read. The remaining 8 numbers are clearly legible even to the naked eye, but the first number could be an "8" or a "9". (it also looks like the Omega logo if you keep staring) . I tried cleaning it but still cannot be certain. Before I go to the dealer and ask them (which will be next week) I wondered if this is common due to the small size of the numbers? Probably much ado about nothing but I thought I'd ask since I'm a first timer. Thanks in advance.
