I'm looking for advice regarding the cleaning & polishing of my 3 week old SeMP 2054.50. By 'polishing' I do not mean w/an abrasive compound, but simply using a microfiber or similar cloth for everyday smudges, dirt, etc.
I use an eyeglass polishing cloth that came with a decent pair of sunglasses. It's made of a microfiber material and seems to work well, but wonder if there is anything better or specific to the task.
I currently run the watch under cool to warm water, and brush the bracelet lightly with a vegetable brush (a bit softer than a fingernail brush). I don't use any soap, but have often thought of using jewelery cleaner solution or dishwashing soap. Is this a good idea? I may have read that the soap can work its way into a watch case.
I don't currently have the capability to remove the bracelet, but I'd feel better about using soap if I could. Is it worth it to buy the spring-bar removal tool for the purpose of cleaning? It may be $10 well spent but, any advice will be appreciated. Thx.
