: I recently purchased an Omega Seamaster Professional
: Chronometer in Switzerland. Whenever I take off the watch
: at night, the next morning the action has stopped and I
: have to reset the watch. I thought kinetic movement was
: supposed to wind the watch to function for 47 hours or so
Just wearing the watch *some* does not guarantee that it will be fully wound at the point you take it off. A common mistake is people will wear an automatic watch out to dinner, take it back off when they get home, and wonder why it is not running a day later.
Try this: When you first put it on after it has stopped, manually wind it a good 20 to 30 turns. Then wear it all day, take it off, and see how long it runs.
The two main possibilities here are: 1) You are not wearing it long enough to get it wound to full power, or 2) something needs adjusting in the watch that is preventing it from winding fully.
You mention where you bought it, but not when. How old is it? Ones made prior to 1998 used the Omega 1109 movement that had occasional reported cases of not fully winding itself.
Also, try reading the serial number off your watch (see the Seamaster FAQ on this site for details) and send it an email to info@omega.ch and ask them the production date and which movement is in the watch.
