: Will the Seamaster Pro model # 2531.80 ever be discontinued?
'Ever' is a very long time. Are you worried about it being discontinued in the next 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, or 1000 years? Looking to still be in style for that Y3K party?
Don't worry. I doubt it will be discontinued in the next few years. According to Omega, the 2531.80 is the single most popular Seamaster they currently make.
Undoubtedly, this is because of its connection to the James Bond movies. Reports were that sales of Seamaster watches increased by 50% for several months after each Bond movie featuring them came out. Another Bond movie featuring this watch is coming out next month.
Omega would be foolish to discontinue this model for quite a while. What Omega appears to be doing is offering more Seamaster models so buyers have a greater range of choices!
