SMP 2531.80 vs. 2254.50

What's the general opinion out there?

I've begun to notice an increase in black/black owners on this forum (or maybe they're just more vocal).

I own the blue/blue Bond model myself and am perfectly happy with it, but I do realize (and anticipated at the time of purchase almost 3 years ago) that this is the most popular Seamaster, thereby making it a little more pedestrian of a choice.

It seems that the people who choose the black/black version are trying to distance themselves from the mass appeal of the Bond model.

No offence intended. I like both models. The black/black conjures up the classic Seamaster models, and the speedy bracelet is more timeless. But I also think the blue face and bezel makes a watch of this size look a little less harsh, and the Bond-style bracelet sort-of reminds me of the old "beads of rice" bracelets.

Anyways, this might be a good debate.
