I think you hear a lot about the 2254.50 because it's a relatively new model and the "Bond" may be all talked out!! lol When I got my 2254.50, I didn't know there "was" a Bond, as they had none in stock. I didn't research my purchase on these forums prior to buying. I saw the watch, liked it, and bought it.
I had subscribed to WatchTime magazine for about a year because I love watches but I knew I couldn't afford really upper-end watches. I didn't like the Tag's and other watches that were in about the same price range. I looked at the Baume & Mercier Capeland but only one dealer in Vancouver carries them and do not discount.
So making a short story even longer, I went for the 2254.50 although I really like the Bond as well.
