:I owned a Bond quartz and sold it to get the 2254.50. There were several reasons; first, I wanted to go automatic so it was going to be a new watch of some sort. Secondly, I got a little tired of having a blue watch. (I never dreamed I would as blue has always been a favorite.)
I once thought the bezel numbers and dial markers were too aggressive but they really grew on me and I didn't hesitate to go with it.
Lastly, I liked the fact that the Speedy bracelet was simpler in design and, in my opinion, did not detract from the dial. (It also tapered, which gives the watch a nice, angled look.) That being said, I do think the Bond is a "new classic" and will be around for years and years. In fact, I wrote Omega about it and Isabelle Klumpp wrote back and said it was going to remain in production for the forseeable future. Confused? So was I...I still do believe the Bond is more versatile, as you can dress it up or down for any occasion. Did I just talk myself into selling this one now ????
