After a "near-TAG experience" yesterday (almost plunked down about 2 large on a Tag-Heuer Searacer at a local jeweler), I decided to pull the chain and investigate my other options. It just didn't "feel" right. Can't really explain it but I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about.
So I came home and did some extensive research via Google and found that the Omega SeaMaster has a hearty reputation and is known for being a heavy watch (something I love the feeling of and that was lacking with the Tag).
One of the links from Google Groups brought me here where I did additional homework. Now for the guilt portion of our program... I wound up ordering a SeaMaster Professional Chronograph (2599.80.00 a.k.a. 300M Chrono Diver???) from www.bernardwatch.com this afternoon. I dealt with a guy named Cory who was great to work with and everything that could possibly be in order was. Pretty good deal from what I can tell and an all-around great experience.
But, given the fact that they're not an "authorized dealer", should I be having these feelings that I'm going to burn in hell for doing the deal? They seem to have a great reputation and I'm not doubting that at all (so far so good).
I guess my real question is how many other folks in this forum have gone the same route? Misery loves company and all that. On the other hand, I'm completely psyched to get my wrist through that bad boy. I wonder if I'll need to register it with the police as a lethal weapon?
Cheers!
