You should never take such statements as gospel truth for all Omega watches ever made. Sure, Omega has not RECENTLY done that. But they have been making watches for over 150 years. Over time, they change how they do things.
That's where a lot of people get themselves in trouble--they hear a fact snippet, take it out of the context that it was given and try to apply it to all watches Omega has ever made. It does not work that way.
The watch in that auction was from the 1980s. Omega used somewhat different guidelines for labeling their watches in that era than they do today.
