Just so you have it right......saphire(corundum actually) IS very hard, and a "9" on the Mohs scale of hardness. Diamond is a "10" on the same scale, but it is a bit confusing to most people as it is "only" one number harder. But in actuality diamond is at least 100X harder than anything else, saphire included!!!!!

Just thought you'd all like to know
