Hi,
I heard that there are mechanical watches that the second hand runs absolutely smooth, is it true or does it just run at higher frequency so the jumps are invisible?
Regards, Bruch.
: A sweep second hand is when the second hand
: moves in 1/8th of a second (or faster). This
: is almost exclusively on mechanical watches.
: This is as opposed to the *jump* second hand
: seen on most quartz watches that moves only
: once a second.
: This concept has nothing to do with the minute
: or hour hands. They move too slow to see.
