: I just wanted take a poll as to
: those who have two omegas.
Okay if I respond if I have FOUR?
: Which two models do you have and why?
First Omega purchase: Seamaster Pro "Bond", cuz I liked it. That was 4.5 years ago and haven't had a single regret.
Second, an Omega DeVille Prestige, because I wanted a dressier watch. Sometimes I desired a bit more formal watch than the SMP for dressier business situations. Love this watch, though my need for fancier business wear is much less than I had predicted. So this one gets very little wrist time.
Third, a vintage Omega Seamaster, because I wanted to start collecting vintage watches. I was in too much of a hurry to jump into vintage and selected a style that was just too plain and too similar to other watches I have, so I virtually never wear it. So I'd say I was disappointed in my choice relative to my needs, but not the watch itself.
Fourth, a modern Omega Dynamic non-chronograph, because I liked it. Quickly discovered this was destined to be along side my SMP as my two favorite watches. Forget the factory bracelet which is a hair puller on some guys. This is a gem on a HUGE range of strap possibilities that compliment the black dial and yellow highlights of the watch. Makes it a great all around watch. Black shark strap makes it quite dressy, brown leather makes it very elegant casual and yellow kevlar makes it very sporty.
And to top it off, the Dynamic is the most affordable new/recent Omega watch. List price was $995 (chronograph was about $1250). It and its chronograph counterpart are true 'sleeper' models--ones that were greatly overlooked when they came out and really didn't become popular until Omega stopped production on them.
So my suggestion for a second Omega would be the Dynamic in your preference of chronograph or non-chronograph. Still available new, but also readily available used. Chronograph version retails for $1250, new discounted $850-950, used $650. Non-Chronograph version retails for $995, new discounted $650-700, used $495.
