Sounds like you are actually talking about the clasp on the METAL BRACELET. A 'strap' is something quite different--it refers to a leather watch band, not a metal watch bracelet.
Have not heard of such a problem before.

Certainly. The only time the warranty would not cover such is if there are obvious signs of abuse or accidental damage.
