My wrist is a little larger then 6.5" and my smp mid is configured as follows
12 O'clock position - 5 1/2 links
6 O'clock position - 4 1/2 links
Even though the lengths are not equal the watch sits well on my wrist. My personal opinion; but I think having the 6 o'clock side a little smaller then the 12 o'clock works well due to the shape of the wrist.
