I've ordered plenty of watches (8 in the last three years) from Ashford and have been pretty pleased with them. However, I did recently notice that my SMP does NOT have a serial number (was buffed off). I'm talking to their customer service dept to see what, it anything, they paln on doing about this, as they assured me that all of their watches have serial numbers.
