Hey Stephen,
Take the watch back to your Omega dealer and get them to send it in for a check-up. It is under warranty so there should be no problems. And yes, you cannot overwind this watch because when it is fully wound, a ratchet inside the watch disengages from within the movement.
If you are hearing a clicking sound when you try to screw the crown back in, then perhaps the 'thread' on the crown stem could be worn or bent out of alignment.
I sell Omegas here in Australia and I can assure you that this problem occurs with many mass-produced brands. Every now and then, an imperfect watch slips under the quality control radar. Please don't let it spoil your Omega-owning experience. There are enough people on this forum who would swear by their Seamasters.Myself included. And no, it wasn't a freebie. I paid for it fair and square.:-)
But for now, just take it back and get it checked.Only an Omega repairer will know exactly what's wrong with it. And while it's under warranty, your butt is covered. Good luck.
