DON'T! The World is going to END if you DO it!

All I can say is, I was taking photographs of my SMP and noticed that I had set the time to 13:50 instead of 10:08, and almost by reflex, I turned it backwards to the time I wanted. I immediately noticed that I had broken one of the basic WISdoms, but of course it couldn't be undone.

My TOTALLY UNEDUCATED (!!!!!) layman's guess is: I don't believe it's going to harm your watch if you turn it back one hour once a year, as long as you do it in the southern hemisphere of the dial. All this hearsay about the gears wearing out sounds so much like old wive's tales. If you're crossing a timezone each day, maybe, but once a year?

When DST ends, I am going to advance the date 30 days and turn the hands 23 hours forward, though, just because all those people on the internet keep telling me to do so. If it completely lacks any reasonable basis, I'll just consider it a funky WIS ordinance. ;-)
