For the answer to the NUMBER #1 most frequently asked question here--for details or value of a specific older Omega watch you have--go to: Tell Me About My Omega. | Learn more about How To Include Photos and HTML In Your Postings. | To contact someone with a question not relevant to other readers of the forum, please click on their email address and contact them privately. |
Not defective, but they are 'display mules'--watches rigged to NOT run and have the hands fixed to positions for display purposes. The hand positions are selected to give a clean look and not obscure any major dial details. By not running, these watches are ready to go for photographing without wasting endless time stopping and resetting them.
Unfortunately, as you noticed, this sometimes means the watches are displaying an impossible configuration of time, date or such. But that is inconsequential as the watches you buy will be right.
You actually see this in many other demo and brochure photos. Ever notice that many model homes for a subdivision have no driveway leading up to the garage--just grassy lawn? Again, reality tweaked a little for display purposes.
