Both are very conservative. The black SMPs look very classic diver's watch. The Bond stands out a little from the crowd--not really any other watch quite like it--yet still very well kept to subtle differences to keep is an overall quite conservative look.
As these are sport/diver style watches, neither are really appropriate for conservative business or formal wear. That's where a Seamaster Aqua Terra, DeVille or Contellation is more suitable. But the black dial SMP versions have MUCH bolder markers. While that looks great, it makes the watch clearly an even sportier look--making it even less appropriate for dressy wear than the Bond.
As to either being "too popular" -- where? Outside watch enthusiast circles, I doubt you see these much at all. In fact, I only rarely see Omega watches on other people. It is Rolex watches that are so overly popular that they are seen everywhere. So I wouldn't worry about ANY Omega being remotely commonplace except at James Bond and NASA fan club meetings!
