Both watches are great -- just a matter of personal taste. I prefer the Bond watch because I really like the blue dial and bezel -- it is unique and reminds me of the ocean, which I like in a dive watch. I also much prefer the sword hands of the Bond over the dagger hands of the black SMP. I don't dive with the watch, so luminosity is not a big factor. I do see Bond watches from time to time, but they are certainly not that common.
: I am going to purchase my first Seamaster in
: the coming days and cannot decide between
: the 2531.80 ("Bond") and the
: 2054.50 (Black dial/black bezel). I like
: them both but, unfortunately, will only be
: able to purchase one. The Bond seems almost
: too popular but I really like it. The black
: looks really cool too but is almost a little
: TOO much black.
: This will open up a can of worms, I know...But
: any advantages to either one? Dressier?
: Sportier? I'd appreciate any comments.
: PS-GREAT website and Forum - it has definitely
: given me the info to make an informed
: decision and educated me on the watches
: themselves. BTW - I will purchase through an
: auth. dealer. Found one who will give me 35%
: with full Omega warranty.
: Thanks!
