Good idea, but your math is not right...
In Response To: A good way to get 40% off a new Omega (authorized) ()

When you take 25% off, then another 15% off that DOES NOT equal 40% off. Remember your basic math--the second percentage is coming off a LOWER number (already reduced by the first percent off).

So for example, a SMP at $1750 retail at a TRUE 40% off would be $1050.

But your deal with the initial 25% off would be $1312.50. Take the extra 15% off and it is down to $1115.63. So that nets out to 36.25% off the total.

Still a great deal for authorized! But there are other authorized sources that can give you 35% off without opening a credit card with them. And if you end up paying off the watch on that credit card and incurring interest charges--you may end up paying a lot more in the end.

So as always, be careful in scrutinizing deals and don't let your excitement cause you to misinterpret exactly how good the deal is (or isn't). Not only do some places play the double discount game but some even falsely inflate the quoted retail price to make their deals sound better!
