: I agree, the Bond 40 yrs is completely tacky and to pay an extra 300 or so dollars merely to have "007" printed on the dial is more than a little naff! It may have some collectors value in another 40 yrs time. Maybe.
I liked the Bond SMP model because it looked fabulous in the movie which for me was more like advertising, I certainly look nothing like James Bond! It remains one of the handsomest, most gorgeous watches I have ever seen.
An earlier forum contributor mentioned how the black dial goes better with more clothes etc.. Some have even bought both models, one blue one black (see the great pics in earlier messages)
For me personally though it probably makes more sense to buy, in addition, the Speedy Professional (worn by real heroes and not fictional!) as this way I would then have both a blue and a black watch.
Great! Now I just have to convince the wife……
