Re: Omega website
In Response To: Re: Omega website ()

: I think Omega has a very poor site
: not suitable for its name, that provides
: little if no information to its customers.
: But maybe it is all part of Omega's policy
: not to sell watches over the net and also
: not to provide information.

I beg your pardon?

First of all, of all Swiss manufacturers, the Omega site is one of the more sane examples, because there's no Flash and stuff that would render the site unusable. If you go there outside rush hour, you're a few clicks and 20 seconds away from getting a nice big picture of the watch you're wanting to look at. They do have performance problems during peak times, no question. Still, they are NOT bugging their visitors with a Flash intro and crappy Flash-navigation stuff that doesn't work. And while we're at it: No pop-ups and no popping up of a new browser window because the "designer" thinks that he needs to tell viewers what size their browser has to be.

Apart from being slow as hell due to overload sometimes, and apart from skewed facts (looks like another site that the IT department has been left alone with), it's one of the better watch manufacturer sites on the web. I'd rate it into the top 20% percent.
