will scotch tape hurt or help my smp?

i don't want to get the bezel on my two week old smp scratched. i decided to put scotch tape on the blue area of the bezel and you can hardly notice it. this was tough!!! over time do you think this might take the blue color on the bezel off if the scotch tape is removed? i have also put it on the clasp of the watch and again seems to be working fine. so far no scratches. only scratch is on the braclet.
