will blue bezel fade on smp?

duck tape got on the my smp when i was fixing some stuff. i pulled it off and noticed the blue area on the bezel didn't look the same somehow. the blue color is still there but seems different. did the "sticky" tape take some of the blue paint on the bezel off or is it just my imagination? has anyone had any problems like this before? does the blue paint fade over time as well?
