I've sized my wife's mid-size "Bond", and from what I remember, the half link itself is different (made out of one single part, not assembled, no polished parts) but does have the same pin/bushing innards as the full links
I don't think that the "Bond" bracelet is particularly hard to adjust. The only problem is that you wish you had 4 hands to hold all the pieces in place. ;-)
As for your problem with the pin not coming out of the half link, sorry, I've got no serious idea about that. :-/
