I prefer quartz since I don't wear it everyday. With quartz, I don't have to fiddle with resetting it after not wearing it for a few days. That saves wear on the crown and gasket. Having the required battery change also reminds me to get it pressure tested which is something I lack in doing with my automatics.

I don't dive anymore but if I did I wouldn't be using an expensive watch anyway. I'd stick with a G-Shock for that or a dive computer.

In the end I prefer the "less fiddle factor" of quartz set and forget technology and since it's my money...
