quartz doesn't seem to have, at least for me....if I was going to spend over 1K on a watch I sure know it wouldn't be quartz....and if I were going to buy a quartz watch it would be something other than a quartz Omega...I would probabily just buy a nice Seiko.
This can be carried over into other luxury markets though....
For Example....
Why spend a few hundred on a fountain pen when you can get a nice ballpoint or rollerball for usually alot cheaper.
Why spend more for platinum when you can get white gold for much much cheaper??
Why get anything in yellow gold when you can just get gold plate??
quartz are nice, but not nice enough to spend what Omega is asking for even after a discount....only quartz movements I would spend "real" money on are either an IWC Mecha quartz or a Rolex Oyster quartz as those are "real" quartz movements, both unique, extremely well made and supposedly far more accurate than the run of the mill ETA quartz that everyone under the sun is using.
