I Heard it From the Grape Vine

Starting January 2003, all Omega models which come on the old style "Bond" bracelet, will now come on the new style "Speedy" bracelet in the USA (except for the Bond model itself). This includes the Black Dial GMT, which is switching form model number 2534.50.00 to 2234.50.00 (a current Non-US number). All US model numbers starting with 20xx.xx.xx will revert to the Non-US model numbers 22xx.xx.xx.

My understanding is that the Bond bracelet will only be available on the Bond watches (there may be some exceptions, but I can't think of any now). I'm sure Authorized US Dealers will still have the unsold "Older Stock" models, which are still in the pipeline. But you will now only be able to order a Blk/Blk Seamaster Pro (2054.50.00) with the new "Speedy" style bracelet (2254.50.00). Prices remain the same.

At this very moment, I don't think the Dealers actually know about this, so you may get some odd looks if you inquire about it at your local Authorized Dealer. Information is based on a memorandum from Omega US to Omega Sales Reps (not Dealers) and is effective immediately.

If you MUST have a watch on the Bond Bracelet, ask your Authorized Dealer if he would be able to swap bracelets before the watch is delivered to you.

Best Regards,

Keith Downing
