I bought a new Seamaster from an authorized dealer over 2 years ago. I wear the watch every day, and clean my watch on a weekly basis, using soapy water and a soft bristle toothbrush. I still have the red seal intact, and will it ever come off???
Personally I would not worry if the red seal is not there.
