No, doesn't work that way. When it is wound enough, the crown will keep on turning.
Try pulling MORE. Test that your watch works correctly in ALL MODES for winding, setting the date and setting the time.
If the watch appears to not be functioning correctly, you would be foolish to ignore the possibility of a problem. You should return to the dealer where you bought it and have them check it. Either they need to show you how to operate it right or acknowledge that it has a problem and get it fixed or replaced.
