Make sure it is sufficiently wound. A watch will slow down if it does not get enough power. People often mistake simply wearing an automatic watch *some* as being enough. But if you don't wear a watch enough (usually at least 12 hours a day everyday), then it won't have enough power to keep running at the proper rate when you have it off your wrist or are inactive like sleeping.
Try hand-winding your watch every other day about 30 turns. If after several days, your watch is keeping better time, then that's all the problem was.
