Actually, my top suggestion might surprise you. Don't rule out USED or VINTAGE Omega watches. Why spend a new watch price for an occasional use watch?

My personal favorite for a seldom used dress watch would be:

  1. Preferrably a manual wind. Who needs an automatic or quartz for such a seldom worn watch?

  2. White or silver dial. Black dial is nowhere as near as dressy.

  3. A black alligator or croc strap is best. A solid metal matching bracelet is the second best.

  4. Sub-Seconds. This adds a real classy look to a watch and is a conversation starter if another watch enthusiast notices it on your wrist.

  5. Rose or pink gold. When buying a vintage watch, gold ones are not that much more expensive. A very nice gold vintage watch can be had for as little as half the price of a brand new steel watch. And rose/pink gold will stand out from the masses of cheap gold-colored wristwatches.

Check out artoftime.com, they have several like this in the $650-950 range.

If you really want a NEW Omega, then the Aqua Terra, Deville Coaxial or the Deville Prestige manual wind 4520 (steel) or 4620 (yellow gold). That last one may be discontinued, but possibly still available through a dealer.
