I have a deville coming that is probably a '61 or a 62 that has the plain back also. It is my understanding that they did that on some so they could be engraved.
Mine is engraved on the back but no date window:(
That reminds me anyone know where to look for replacement crystals, this one has a scratch and I'm not sure I can get it polished out. Would any watch supply company, like Borels in Kansas City have one or do I need to look for something more specific.
