If you look at my posts earlier, you will see how easy it is to adjust your watch at home. Having done this, I can suggest that a hit to the watch might disrupt the mechanism. I have also noted that stopping the mechanism also changes the precision for a period of time. I have not, however, stopped my watch for weeks.

Since you have a new product, you may elect to send it to service at the store you purchased it.

There are two adjustment in the balance wheel area. One is a fine adjustment, the other is a course one. Typically, one has about +/- 10 seconds of adjustment with the fine screw. The course adjustment can move the mechanism by minutes.

By the sounds of your description, something happened to the watch during its down time and it would no longer be adjustable with the fine screw. I would wear it for the next few days or maybe a week, see if it settles down to previous levels of precision. If nothing changes, then service either home or shop is appropriate.
