Sealed back Seamaster

Hi, I've seen an Omega Seamaster automatic with a completely sealed case in a local shop. The watch dates back to at least the 60s (maybe more) and when I asked the owner how you got into the watch he said you unscrewed the glass. I've since trawled the web and can find no information about this watch. So the question is, does anyone know anything about this type of watch? Note - it has no bezel, a plain pale dial with bars rather than numbers or numerals and has the seamaster stamp and animal on the back of the case
