Hi Damian.

Omega have used this "system" on a few watches.
I'm sure the watch I show here is nothing like yours, I just use it as an example.

The only way to get into the movement is to remove the crystal ( I don't recommend you try this at home ). & then access the watch internals from the front.

I've enclosed a couple of pics from the "bay" of a watch which uses this system.

The only thing I'd say is that I'm not aware of the crystal's being screwed on. They are pressed on (using a special tool - 107 in this case - & a LOT of pressure)
