...and another thing

If you need to reset the watch often (b/c you don't wear it everyday or two) then you will need to be prepared to not only wind it up, but also UNSCREW the water-resistant crown. IMHO this places undue wear on the seals located in the crown, which might lead to a breakdown in water-resistance.

Because I wanted a hassle free, highly accurate, throw it in the safe until the weekend, diving watch I chose the QUARTZ SMP.

I will state for the record, however, that I do have a couple of Automatics as well: Speedmaster and AirKing. I love these watches and it is neat to think about the incredible science/art that goes into making a little self-perpetuating machine.

If I were to buy a SMP I'd go for Quartz. If I were to buy the AQUA TERA I'd go for the auto. The AT has a neat display back, which IMHO, is a definite PLUS PLUS.

FYI: The quartz in the Omega is not some 50 cent piece of junk. It is very, very efficient and, as some photos have revealed, quite nicely decorated and refined.

Just my .02 $ worth.

Good luck, both of you. Tell us what you decide.
