If nothing else, get the original purchaser to fax a copy or snail-mail the original of the purchase receipt to you. That at least will prove the watch was bought from an authorized dealer and the date of sale. You might be able to get Omega to accept that for warranty coverage.
If that same store chain is in your area, you could also try taking the copy of the receipt and the watch to their nearest location. Go straight to the store manager to ask them to validate the warranty that their other location forgot to.
