: Can Omega watches be insured like Rolex watches?
Sure, they all fall under the classification of jewelry. The brand makes no difference.
Your watch should already be covered generically as part of your personal property under a homeowners or renters policy. But your policy deductible applies. So if you lose a $3000 watch and have a $500 deductible, you would be covered for $2500 of the loss.
If you have multiple personal property items lost or stolen as part of the same incedent, the deductible applies to the total. So if your $3000 Rolex + $1750 Omega were stolen at the same time, you would be covered for $4750-500=4250 of loss.
The difference is that you can pay EXTRA to the insurance company to cover the watches specifically with no deductible. So by adding them to your policy separately and paying an an additional premium, you are only protecting yourself against the $500 (or whatever) deductible.
Generally, it is not economically advantageous paying to protect yourself from smaller losses. That is the most expensive part of insurance.
