Rich, unless you are counting down to the end of the world (do you know something the rest of us don't?), there is no need to have the chrono running all the time. And yes, the watch works that much harder when the stopwatch is running and, as such, the watch MAY require servicing at more frequent intervals. It won't damage the watch, but it will bring the watch's first service around that much sooner. It is similar in principle to a quartz chronograph where, if you leave the stopwatch running all the time, the battery will go flat sooner rather than later.

The chrono should be used only when necessary, for those times when every second counts. Such as when you want to time the quickest and most direct route to your mother's house in heavy traffic. I did that once. Forty-four minutes, if you must know. Or when you see somebody on the street that you would rather avoid, but too late, they've spotted you. You can discreetly hit the start button and say to yourself: "I'm giving this loser three minutes only!"

The AC Chrono is a great watch, Rich. I envy you. Enjoy it.
