69 is the year of the first moon landing... BUT, I think it's pretty much accepted that Buzz Aldrin's watch was an earlier model (Cal 321) and not the Cal 861.
There are a lot of folks who don't believe the 861 ever made it any where near the moon.
It's still a very cool watch and a piece of history, but I think I'd go for the newer speedy.
If my wife would let me spend the money =), I'd find a nice 321, a crystal back, and a 1999 30th anniversary model.
