It is the winder
In Response To: SMP internals ()

If you happen to open the back of the watch you will see an antimagnetic cover. Removing this, there is a ball bearing autowinder tied to a gear train that moves the mainspring. Rotating or shaking the watch then moves the winder in a pendullum fashion. It swings 360 degrees and motion in either direction winds the watch. If you look around the net, you will find photographs especially on www.ofrei.com as this company sells various mechanisms. The mechanism is very similar to an ETA 2824-2A if you can image one there or elsewhere. Any mechanism with an autowinder will be sufficient to give you the idea on what it looks like. Good luck.
