Not to sound critical, but it seems that Omega will use any excuse to release a Limited Edition watch. They must make some money on it. Look at all the LE Speedmaster Pros including the recent Apollo XVII "Last Man on the Moon" and the upcoming "Snoopy Award" LE. Look how many Speedmaster Michael Schumacher Limited Editions there are including the new Broad Arrow based.
The James Bond LE sold out very quickly due to the timing of it's release to coincide with the release of the film. They were largely sold out before the film even opened.
I have a Seamaster Pro America's Cup LE. But I didn't get it for the LE "value", I got it because of my childhood/early adulthood fascination with Sailing and The America's Cup. I think you should only buy these LEs for the reason that you have some interest in whatever they commemorate, not necessarily for some future value.
