COSC Certificate - 4 years

Hello OMEGA owners and enthusiasts around the world! This is the first time i post a message here, after reading this site for quite a while now. I bought last week an OMEGA Seamaster Professional Chronometer (Full Size "James Bond" watch, ref. number 2531.80. I purchased it from a friend of mine, who wore this magnificent piece of art for only two times (he is a watch's collector and have many fine watches). Reading this forum, i discovered i could ask for my COSC Certificate (though it really is just a piece of paper as Derek said before). But i thought it could be exciting to have it if i had the right to own it anyway. Last sunday, i sent an e-mail to OMEGA's Custom Service and a lady named Maria Mastrodonato answered today "that the "COSC" (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des
Chronomètres) certificate is available for a period of 4 years, from the
date of purchase". She also told me that my watch is from may, 1997. I guess i lost the right to receive the COSC Certificate. Doesn't bother me at all, really. I was very happy to see that OMEGA treat the customs in a very nice way, answering the e-mails so fast and gently! Great company, best watches in the world!
