Problem with Seamaster rubber strap

I've got an Omega Seamaster Pro with the domed rubber strap and deployment clasp. I like the look and the durability of the strap, but the tail of the strap, where the clasp folds it against my wrist, irritates the skin esp. in hot weather. Two questions: has anyone else had this problem? and, secondly, how comfortable is the ridged rubber strap with the larger deployment clasp which is avail. for the SMP? Maybe that'd solve my problem. Thanks....
