Hi,
I share your love for the day-date, so I purchased the exact one you mentioned. It is a fantastic watch! According to Omega's website, they say you can swim with it and shower too. When I purchased mine, I asked the same question and was advised by various users in the forum that it probably wouldn't be a good idea. They recommended that I purchase a cheap digital and leave the Speedy in the room. I found a much better alternative. I purchased a Seamaster chronograph in titanium that's good to 300m. Now I have a great watch to wear out and about and another for wear at the beach and for diving. I know it's a little pricey to do it that way, but what the heck, it's only money, right? My only problem now is that I fell in love with the Seamaster also. Ahhh, life's little dilemas! Anyhow, that's my 2 cents worth. I'm sure you'll love the day-date as much as I do. Enjoy it!
