Re: Omega Speedmaster Day-date
In Response To: Re: Omega Speedmaster Day-date ()

Hi again,
I wish I could give you an honest answer. I haven't worn mine swimming. I would have to think that if Omega endorses swimming with the watch, not snorkeling-just swimming, that it should be ok on occasion. You would think a watch certified to 30m by Omega might mean a little more than one by another cheap brand. I would seriously recommend having it checked for water resistance each swimming season as stated by Omega since it is only tested to 30m. Also might want to find out if the warranty covers water damage if it leaks from swimming, just to keep yourself safe. Anyhow, hope this helps! It's a great gift that I'm sure you'll love! If you were going grey market, you can get the stainless Seamaster Chrono for a few hundred dollars more. It is as awesome as the day-date in my opinion. Just MAKE SURE it has the serial numbers intact. It's also nice if the place offers a warranty as Omega won't service a grey market timpiece under warranty.Take care,
Bill
